The Ukrainian Gambling Commission has started recognizing certification from BMM, GLI, and other widely recognized testing laboratories.
According to the Commission's recent announcement, certification can now be carried out not only by Ukrainian companies, but also by a number of testlabs located outside of Ukraine:
1. GLI Europe B.V. (Kingdom of the Netherlands)
2. BMM Spain Testlabs, s.l.u. (The Kingdom of Spain)
3. eCOGRA Limited (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland)
4. NMi Certin B.V. (Kingdom of the Netherlands)
5. SIQ / Gaming Laboratories, Ltd. (Republic of Slovenia)
Dmitry Hotsyn, Head of CIS Desk and Senior Consultant at 4H Agency, comments on the situation:
"The legal gambling market in Ukraine is relatively young, having only begun regulation in 2020. Consequently, there are still many issues that need to be worked out.
One of the challenges faced until today has been the certification process, given that Ukraine lacks a specific regulatory act governing the technical aspects of certifying gaming equipment. Consequently, Ukrainian companies handle certification based on general technical requirements such as electrical safety, information security, etc.
The inclusion of test labs recognized by all participants in the global gambling market is expected to significantly enhance Ukraine’s appeal to legal operators, simplifying and clarifying the certification procedure. This development addresses a longstanding concern, contributing to Ukraine's overall attractiveness for legal gambling operations".
